I am the new girl addition to the Kochis family born almost 3 weeks early

on 7-23-09 at 11:39am.
I weigh 7lbs 11oz and am 19.75" long.
May name is Hanna Elizabeth Kochis.

It's a girl!!! We decided on July 31st...Isaiah is in May, Luke is in June, baby girl Kochis will be in July.
That's our plan, God has a big smile on his face...maybe with a different plan. We'll wait and see.

I finally heard every one's complaints and I managed to squeeze in a little blogging again.
We went to Florida in February to visit Grandpa and Grandma Kochis (they rent a house there for a month). We had a great time just being outside away from the snow and cold of the Vestal area.

In sfarsit am gasit timp sa mai pun ceva poze pe blog. Nu'mi vine sa cred ce a trecut timpul. Am fost in Florida in februarie sa vizitam pe mamaia si tataia Kochis care inchiriaza o casa acolo pentru o luna. Ne'a placut mult sa lasam zapada si frigul de la Vestal si sa mergem la soare si caldura din Florida.

What fun Jesus's Birthday was!!! Isaiah was so thrilled to realize we are the ones getting presents for Jesus' Birthday. Luke had a great time opening presents. He loved the paper and all the sounds it would make.
Thank you Jesus for all you have done for us and for blessing us with sooooo MUCH. Thank you for everything and PLEASE keep us humble and to always remember and do something about those that have nothing.

Horse backriding

Our friends, Jack and Bethany invited us to go horse backriding for Christmas eve. It was a great Christmas present for me because I've never gone before and it was in the top 10 things to do before I die list. Not that I am ready to pass on, but I was just blessed by going.

Isaiah is into making piles nowadays. Piles of food, piles of toys, or just piles (of anything he can get his hands on).
I am learning that when Isaiah is really quiet you better get the camera out. This is the latest pile I found in the bathroom. It could have been worse. Yuck!!!

The neighborhood went sleigh riding today and even if the hill wasn't huge the kids had a blast. Isaiah wanted to go by himself most of the times (this is a first for him) and Luke just enjoyed watching everyone from the stroller.

Corn again

Eric found a corn field a few weeks ago. He brought home 50 pieces of corn, and hid them in the garage. Every other day he's bringing a few ears inside for Isaiah to shuck. Before going to bed Isaiah really wanted to shuck some corn so he could feed the squirrels. Is this "corn obsession" ever going to end?

Apple sauce

We bought 50 lbs. of apples a month ago, and we always thought it will be a great idea to make sauce but we never got to it. We ate half of the apples, but today we got inspired and we finally did it. All I can say is that it was much easier than canning chicken!!!

Our friends Griffin and Lincoln came to visit us today. Luke and Lincoln had a "whose fist fits better in their mouth" contest. Isaiah and Griffin had a great time playing in Isaiah's closet, and the moms just hung out and did nothing. Beautiful!!! Thank you Kaley for driving (I admit is a challenge packing everyone up and I am thankful when other people come over).

Daniels' Birthday

Haaapy Birthday to Daniel...
It was nice to see aunts and uncles (especially uncle Ilie), mamaia and Mr. Dorel. We have not seen them in a while, so it's always good to catch up. We debated, we ate good...thank you Mike and Maria for having us.

The farm

We went to the Glezen Farms and we were amazed by how much we learned in a couple of hours. Thank you, Val!!!
Isaiah was really intrigued with the cows, and he LOVED the huge trucks. Check out the last picture; he was running for his life when he realized the truck is moving (just kidding...the truck wasn't moving, it just looks that way).
Luke, on the other hand was intrigued by...well, let's say the nice, crisp air so he slept through the whole thing (woke up couple of times to smile at the camera).
Are you surprised that Isaiah found some corn to shuck?

We added another fun experience to our adventurous life: we made jelly today. Yummmm...it came out excellent. Thank you Bethany for the idea. And thank you Isaiah, Zane and Luke for behaving...they were really good.

Another beautiful fall day

Our servant-filled-heart-friends, Sal and Sal Jr. came over to help with the yard yesterday. I wish you could see what a beautiful job they did, but I forgot to take pictures, so you would just have to trust me.
Isaiah asked for a leaf pile and he played in it the whole afternoon.
Thank you guys, and thank you God for the beauty of your creation. We think Fall is the season that expresses the most the beauty of who God is.

Halloween

We invited all our friends that live far out in the country to come to our house for Halloween so they can get some candy (our street just goes crazy for Halloween).
We had a lot of fun, and all the kids were so exited to go Trick-or-Treating except the Farmer who just decided he had a LOT to do in the morning so he went to sleep :)
We just wish we would have gotten a little bit more candy because there wasn't enough...hehehe (obviously just kidding).

THE FARMER and THE CORN!!!
Isaiah and Luke got the prize for the most original costumes this year. They got a $20 Wal-Mart card, and we were really proud of them. They were REALLY cute!!! We might be a little partial, but hey...why not?!!!

We love fall and its traditions. We carved pumpkins tonight (mostly Eric), we roasted pumpkin seeds while snow flurries were covering the ground. Being with family and leaving a legacy full of traditions...what else do we need? How perfect is that?

We finally had a reason to try Isaiah's costume today. We went Trick-or-Treating at the story hour at Branes and Nobles. Isaiah was thrilled to wear the costume his daddy made for him, but it didn't last longer than 5 minutes ("the t-shirt was itchy" he said). He will wear it on Holloween though because he really wants the candy:)

Luke was definetely ready for cereal. We wanted to wait until he turned 6 months, but boy was he ready!!! He ate soooo fast (we couldn't feed him fast enough), and we gave him double the amount recommended. He wouldn't stop crying. We think he doesn't want to lose any of his chins :)

Iron Kettle Farm

On Sunday we went to Iron Kettle. It was really cold, but as long as Isaiah had a piece of corn in his hand he was happy. Guess what Isaiah's costume is going to be this year?!!!
We got smarter with Luke, and he was carried facing Eric. No more wind burns :) Check out the last picture...Luke found his hands, and he's been praying ever since. Go Lukey, go!!!

Apple picking

After all the fun with Max we went apple picking. Isaiah wanted to just shuck corn, but we "forced" him to pick some apples, sit on a pumpkin, eat a candy apple, enjoy the beautiful scenary, etc. He ended up having quite some fun. Luke had fun also, but he was really upset later that night when his face was hurting from the wind burn. We felt so bad :(

Fire trucks and firemen

What a full weekend we had!!!
Saturday morning we went to see the fire turcks and the firemen. Isaiah's favorite was The Senator's Max (we thought he was a bear, until he politely whispered din Eric's ear that he's actually a lion)...hehehe.

The best thing of this summer has been Papa's corn. Isaiah dreams of papa's corn every night. THe first thing in the morning he asks to go pick and shuck corn. So we've been doing that almost every day.
Yesterday papa brought the corn to our house. Isaiah was very hungry and he couldn't wait for the corn to cook, so he ate the corn raw. I guess it was so good that he asked for more.

I am sure you all have been wondering what happened to us. Our camera broke, but now we have a new one so we are back in business.

Isaiah went to the creek a few days ago, and he came back holding this beautiful bouquet of flowers. "For you, mommy", he said. I wonder if aunt Maui had something to do with this precious moment :)

4th of July...

We had a very mellow 4th of July. We went to Papa and Grandma's and did our usual. Papa and Isaiah played, while Grandma made dinner. Daddy read his Consumer Reports, and mommy fed Luke for most of the time. After we ate we watched some TV, and then we decided to go and watch the fireworks. We drove to our friends house, we sat in their driveway and Isaiah just loved seeing the pretty fire in the sky. He wanted to touch the fireworks to see if they hurt :)

Here is our #2 named "Luke Daniel Kochis".
Anca did an amazing job once again.
All I can say is any woman that can withstand 3 hours of pushing during full labor contractions with no pain relief should be feared..... Even with Anca's heroic stamina and determination God had a different plan and she was forced to have another "C" section delivery after our chubby child would not conform and exit the "natural" way. At 1 oz shy of 9 lbs and 21 in long you can see why. We are very thankful that mom is healing well and that our baby is healthy.

Happy Daddy's Day!!!

Our Father's Day was AWESOME...
Isaiah gave daddy presents in the morning, then we went to church, then out to breakfast, and then to Papa and Mama's house. We were in the pool for most of the afternoon, and we had the best dinner in a while (yummy steak). Daddy and Papa went to see "Iron Man", and Mommy and Mama stayed home and watched "The Atonement" (yuk).
The greatest thing about the day was when I was praying with Isaiah before he went to bed, and we thanked Jesus for ALL the things daddy does for us. Isaiah was naming thing after thing (tickles me, wrestles with me, daddy makes me laugh, daddy funny, daddy swims with me in the pool, etc., etc.). It made me realize the power of a daddy in a boy's life.
So all I have to say is "Happy Daddy's Day, Eric". I praise the Lord for the awesome man of God you are and for the impact you have in our son's life. You are there for him giving your all, and what else can we ask for? Nothing!!!

Memorial Day Parade

The Memorial Day Parade was great. Small but great!!! We almost cried a couple of times seeing all the veterans. You learn a lot of respect just by watching them pass by.
Isaiah was -of course- mesmerized by all the activity and we really enjoyed seeing our friends Griffin, Wes and Kaley at the parade.

Isaiah's Birthday

For his birthday (Wednesday) Isaiah did his favorite thing pretty much the whole day. He played basketball by himself, with the neighbors, with daddy, with papa and grandma. Even if he had to be in the rain while doing so :)

For his Birthday party (Friday) Isaiah did his favorite thing again. He played basketball with many kids. He loved being the party "prince", and he went crazy over his gifts.
Below is the ice cream cake mommy butchered (decoration wise), bur scored high taste wise. All the frosting came off, and under time constraints didn't have time to recover.
Check the "Hess" advertisement...they are giving us free gas for a whole year :)

Our neighbor, Christian is a really good hockey player, so he's been teaching Isaiah how to play. We are impressed at Isaiah's athletic abilities, considering the fact that daddy and mommy have almost none :)

Isaiah had a great time with his cousin, Sorious this weekend. We went to the park and we played outside a lot even if the weather was not too warm, we had sleepovers which Isaiah totally loved, we wrestled, we swung a lot and we took many tractor rides. We couldn't believe how much fun we could pack in a weekend. It definitely hurt when Sorious had to drive back to North Carolina. We are learning that disappointments make us stronger.

Today we had to drop daddy off at Guthrie. Papa had his surgery today so daddy went to be with Grandma. It happened that the Emergency Helicopter was picking up a patient, so we had the thrill of our lives. Isaiah thought daddy brought the helicopter just for him, so it got even better. We played outside the hospital for 45 minutes just so we can watch the helicopter take off. We were so close (the helicopter was 50 feet above our heads), and we couldn't even move for a little bit. Our hair was sitting straight up, and the whole thing was just too awesome. Even if it was loud, Isaiah was not scarred. He was really speechless...I cannot even tell you what a great afternoon we had!!!

Chuck e Cheese

Isaiah trying to explain to Mrs. Anna why he doesn't like going through the tubes at Chuck e Cheese. Mommy cannot fit through anymore, so Mrs. Anna took care of Isaiah today while he wanted to go through the tubes and play, but his reasoning kept him from doing so.

I am glad Cayman loved the horses also because Isaiah rode for free while Mrs. Anna was putting tokens in :) I cannot reason paying a token for a ride when they are going to be free in another couple of weeks. I am just half kidding...

The basketball hoop was Isaiah's favorite. Mommy got tired of picking him up after a few games, so he just had to switch to other games.

The airplane was quite cool. We discovered it at the end of our stay, so we just have to go back with daddy sometimes this weekend and go in the airplane ride a few more times.

We went to listen to Johnny Only again, and for some reason Isaiah gets really shy and he just wants to sit on mommy's lap for all 40 minutes we are there. Anna, Braden and Cayman were having so much fun dancing (mostly Braden), we were having fun just sitting and listening. If you know Isaiah (he's on the move continuously), it is a privilege to have him sitting still on your lap for 40 minutes :)

We are so blessed Isaiah eats pretty much everything we give him. My pregnant body was craving crazy food this morning, so for our 8AM breakfast we had bean soup and eggs. Yum... Isaiah ate more than me, I guess it wasn't as bad as it looks.

We bought a guitar at a garage sale, and we were disappointed to find out it was broken. Eric and Isaiah fixed it last night...it took them 5 minutes :)

Isaiah did not feel too well so we stayed home from church today. Daddy stopped by at a garage sale, and he found another basketball hoop for Isaiah. After few minutes of playing with the hoop, Isaiah told daddy: "Thank you, daddy, I like it" (sooo cute...)

Even our neighbor had a good time playing with the hoop :)

Yeay, there's a tub in our driveway. That's good news, because things are being done upstairs and we will have a bathroom sooner than I thought. We are selling the beauty, so if you know of anyone interested let us know.

We had a picnic with our friends Cayman, Braden and Griffin today. Isaiah loves being around other children, so we are so blessed to have these friends close by.

When daddy came home, Isaiah helped with gardening. We were all so proud if him. He really worked hard. He took every leaf there was on the ground and put it in the garbage can. He used the shovel to put all the dirt back...just check out his face...he takes work very serious :)

The $200 printer turned out to be a loser. It needed much work and it wasn't worth the repair, so Eric returned it to the people's garbage right after midnight. Hehehe...

Is that time of the year again...Spring cleaning for most people, garbage picking for few of us.
We went last night and this is what we found: tricycle, Little Tykes trucks and a basketball for Isaiah, $200 Canon printer for Eric and some office shelving for Anca. We didn't have enough room for the printer, so Eric came up with this grandiose idea: he opened the sunroof and he put the printer third way through. We couldn't stop laughing all the way home :)

North Carolina was SUPER. Isaiah loved the warm weather, playing with all the kids, the horses, and everything else. He was outside pretty much all day, and he slept through the night (every night) for the first time in a really long time. So Eric's question at the end of our vacation was : "why do we live in NY"?

Our trip to Outer Banks was fenomenal. We wish we could have stayed there for a long time (a month or two), but it was impossible :(
We did all kinds of fun stuff...played with our cousins and nephews, built castles, rode waves, flew kites, relaxed, enjoyed life...we had a really, really good time.

We had a full day today. In the morning we went to the creek with our neighbors. Isaiah stunk really bad when we came back, so we had to scrub him really well. Then we went to a picnic that Uncle Ilie and his fiancee's family put together. It was nice because we got to see them, and we didn't have to bring anything. We even got lost getting there because of Eric's new toy (a GPS). Funny story, just ask Eric!!!

While Eric was rehearsing for the wedding, we went to the Columbus Zoo. It was the best Zoo we went to so far, but the weather "killed" us. It was 105 in the shade, so I had to keep Isaiah hydrated and in the shade as much as I could. It was challenging but we made it. Everything was a "doggie" for Isaiah. Even the snakes!!!

Eric went camping in the Adirondacks with his coworkers this weekend. Isaiah was looking all over the house for "Daddy" when it came time to go to bed. Eric puts him down every night, so Isaiah was confused. He looked at me wondering where was his daddy.
Anyway, Eric had a really good time. Look at their camping experience though!!! Is that really camping :)
